SEPA
Abk. für Single Euro Payments Area, einheitlicher Euro-Zahlungsverkehrsraum. Initiative des europäischen Kreditgewerbes im Mai 2002 als Reaktion auf die EU-Preisverordnung. SEPA wurde in einem sog. Weißbuch „Euroland – Our Single Payments Area“ niedergelegt. Das Weißbuch enthält neben einer Verpflichtungserklärung des europäischen Kreditgewerbes auch einen „Fahrplan“ mit allgemeinen Meilensteinen auf dem Weg zur SEPA.
